Outlook Express
The following is a guide to setting up mailboxes in Outlook Express. It is based on the demo configuration at webHQ using the given information below.
| Option | Setting |
| Name | Fred Smith |
| Email address | fred@demo.com.au |
| Mail box | demo1 |
| Password | passdemo |
| Incoming mail server | mail.demo.com.au |
| Outgoing mail server | mail.demo.com.au or mail.otherisp.com.au |
From the "Tools" menu select the "Accounts" option and the above screen should appear. Click on the "Add" button and then select "Mail". This will start the Internet Connection Wizard.
As shown above, simply enter your name.
Click the "I already have an email address that I would like to use" option, and then type in your email address. In this example, it would be "fred@demo.com.au"
Enter the name of your incoming and outgoing mail servers in the appropiate places. The name of the outgoing mail server should be the same as that of the incoming mail server, unless you don't use ECN to provide your Internet access. In that case, it would be the address of your ISPs SMTP server, usually in the form of mail.otherisp.com.au
For the option "Account Name", enter the name of the Mailbox that Fred belongs to. In this case, it would be "demo1". In the password field, enter the password that you assigned to that mailbox.
Finally to complete the process, click the "Finish" button and then click the "Close" button on the "Internet Accounts" window. You should now be ready to send and receive mail!
